Bruce and I just got back from a Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady cruise from Miami, with stops in Grand Turk and Bimini, and I have to say, it was such a fun trip.

What stood out on our Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady cruise

We flew in a day early and stayed at The Elser in downtown Miami before the cruise, and that was a great start. It is close to the port, very comfortable, and just made everything feel easy from the beginning. I always think having a good pre-cruise hotel makes such a difference because you can start relaxing before the trip even begins.

This Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady cruise from Miami felt easy right from the start, and that really shaped the whole trip for us. Once we got onboard, it was clear right away that Virgin is a little different from a more traditional cruise line. Not bad different, just different. I think that is actually what a lot of people will really like about it.

The best way I can describe it is that it feels very relaxed. You can do as much as you want, or as little as you want, and nobody is pushing you in either direction. If you want to stay busy, there is plenty to do. If you want to find a spot, slow down, and just enjoy being there, that works too. I really liked that part of it.

The crew was also wonderful. Everyone we dealt with was helpful and friendly, and they really seemed like they were enjoying what they were doing. That always stands out to me because it changes the whole feel of a trip.

Now, I will say Virgin is not for everyone. It is adults-only, so of course that makes it a better fit for some travelers than others. And if someone loves a very traditional cruise experience, this may not be the line they are looking for. But for couples or adults who want something a little more modern and a little less structured, I can see why people really enjoy it.

For Bruce and me, the best part of the whole trip was actually the islands.

In both Grand Turk and Bimini, we rented a golf cart and just went exploring on our own, and honestly, that was the highlight. We got to see more of each island at our own pace, stop when we wanted to, and just enjoy the day without feeling rushed. We found incredible beaches, ate local food, and met some really nice locals along the way. Those are always the moments I remember most. Not necessarily the big planned things, but the simple moments that just happen when you are out exploring.

Both islands were beautiful. The water, the beaches, the easy pace of the day, all of it just felt good. It reminded me that sometimes the best days in travel are the ones where you leave a little room to just wander and enjoy what you find.

Another thing I appreciated about Virgin is that some of the practical things are simpler. Gratuities are included, which is always nice, and overall it just felt easy to settle in and enjoy the experience.

What stood out to me on this Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady cruise was how relaxed the overall experience felt, both on board and in port. So overall, I would say this. Virgin Voyages has a very specific style, and for the right traveler, it can be a really great fit. Bruce and I had a wonderful time, and for us, the mix of ship time and island exploring made it especially memorable.

If you are curious about Virgin Voyages, I think it is a great fit for travelers who want something more relaxed, adult-only, and a little less traditional. It is especially good for couples or friends who enjoy having options, good food, and time to explore without feeling locked into a rigid schedule.
